Strong as a bear

For bears rescued from poor captive conditions, the Arosa Bear Sanctuary offers a second chance at life in a species-appropriate habitat. Nestled within the mountain landscape, the sanctuary has pastures, bushes, rocks and forests where the bears can (re-)learn their natural behaviours as visitors watch on. Learn more about the fascinating stories of bears Amelia, Meimo, Jamila and Sam on the adventure trails, at bear mini-golf and in the adventure playground.

The squirrel trail

A firm highlight of the Arosa summer. Have you ever had a squirrel eat nuts out of your hand? These cute critters are particularly active in the summer months – and particularly hungry. The name of the trail says it all: from Tomeli Street to Maran, enjoy a relaxed walk armed with nuts and wait for your new furry friends to say hello. A treat for all ages!

Die Seen

The many lakes in and around Arosa are the perfect way to cool off on balmy summer days, with up to 10 of them accessible via spectacular hiking trails. Daring travellers can take a plunge in one of the higher-altitude lakes, where the water temperature measures at a fresh 10 degrees. Those seeking a gentler excursion will be well served at Untersee (‘Lower Lake’), which offers stand-up paddleboarding, a trampoline and a kids’ paddling pool for fun in and around the water. The connected Obersee (‘Upper Lake’) can be explored in comfort by pedalo.
