At the start of the 1900s, writers, artists and followers of various alternative movements flocked to the foot of Monte Verità. Their shared legacy – including that of Swiss expressionist Ignaz Epper – lives on to this day. A selection of Epper’s artistic works will be on display at Casa Epper until June 2025.
With Casa Epper, the Hotel Eden Roc has an oasis of art and tranquility – perfect for impressive exhibitions in a unique setting.
From 6 June to 19 September 2025, we will be presenting the exhibition “Man and Environment” there in collaboration with the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia, featuring works by Hans-Peter Profunser. The presentation will change over the course of the exhibition, with new works created by Hans-Peter Profunser's students being added.
The freelance artist and sculptor has won numerous competitions and has been working at the Scuola di Scultura since 1999. Since the late 1980s, he has been represented in over a hundred solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad.
“People and the Environment” – an exhibition in two lively phases
Also until June 2025, Casa Epper is presenting a second exhibition of works by Ignaz Epper: “Landscapes”. It includes an exclusive selection of colored and black and white plaster drawings depicting Swiss landscapes from the early 1920s.
These unique pieces, steeped in history and character, tell of Epper's artistic vision with expressive power, between essential lines and material depth. A journey through Switzerland of the past, translated into timeless forms.
Epper’s art was preserved through the efforts of his wife and the creation of the Fondazione Epper. Today, his house, studio and beloved garden offer guests of the Hotel Eden Roc a haven of calm: an unrivalled place for peace and introspection.
