Recognition for continuous sustainable hospitality

Zurich, (11 November 2025). The Tschuggen Collection received the 101 Sustainable Hospitality Award 2026 this past Sunday. During a festive ceremony at Schloss Elmau, the award was presented by tennis legend and Wimbledon champion Michael Stich. The prize recognizes the Tschuggen Collection’s exceptional commitment to combining the highest standards of hospitality with consistent and effective climate protection.

“Our hotels are located amid unique natural landscapes, which means that for us, it’s not only about offering extraordinary experiences, but also about actively contributing to the preservation of this environment. We are proud to be recognized for our efforts in sustainability and would like to thank everyone who accompanies us on this journey — especially our team, our guests, and our partners,” says Christian Klein, CEO Property & Finance of the Tschuggen Collection.

Thanks to innovative energy concepts, heat recovery systems, thermal insulation measures, and consumption optimizations, the Tschuggen Collection has been able to reduce its overall fossil fuel consumption by nearly 90% over the past 11 years.

All electricity is sourced entirely from renewable energy. In addition, the group is actively involved in climate protection and biodiversity projects — for example, the restoration of valuable Swiss moorland landscapes, which are among the most effective CO₂ sinks in the world. These projects include the high moor in the Tourbières de Ponts-de-Martel nature reserve, as well as the Bos-cha and Palü Lunga low moors in the Lower Engadine. A wide range of ecological, social, and local initiatives are also being implemented, strengthening environmental awareness and supporting local communities.

All four properties have been certified with the Green Globe label since 2021, an international standard for sustainable tourism. Through optimizations in procurement and waste management processes, thoughtful product and service design, and the implementation of circular economy strategies, the ecological footprint is further reduced.

With a clear understanding of its ecological and social responsibility, the Tschuggen Collection is committed to a sustainable, green future in hospitality.
