Every year, the climate protection organization myclimate honors companies from the tourism industry with the myclimate Awards. In doing so, the Swiss foundation honors sustainable and economically successful offers as well as special efforts. The Tschuggen Hotel Group will receive one of the coveted awards in 2020.
Arosa (December 1, 2020). The Tschuggen Hotel Group was awarded by myclimate for pioneering sustainability in the premium hotel industry. Stephen Neff, CEO of myclimate explains the award: "The Tschuggen Hotel Group has integrated sustainability and climate protection holistically into its operations. Awareness-raising measures and the offer to commit to climate protection reach both employees and guests."
"We are delighted to receive this myclimate award," says Leo Maissen, CEO Hotel Operations of the Tschuggen Hotel Group. Together with Christian Klein, CEO Finance & Property of the Swiss hotel group, he received the award from Stephen Neff on November 30, 2020. The handover took place at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa, which opened its 2020/21 winter season last Friday. "With the combination of reducing our CO2 emissions and offsetting the unavoidable footprint, we have found a way for us to take responsibility towards our environment," Leo Maissen continued. "We are pleased when other companies in tourism take an example from our commitment and also work for more sustainability in our industry."
Following the implementation of measures for the most sustainable operation possible since 2013, the Tschuggen Hotel Group, with properties in Ascona, Arosa and St. Moritz, launched its collaboration with myclimate in 2019 and has since been operating in a completely climate-neutral manner. To offset the unavoidable CO2 emissions, the Tschuggen Hotel Group has chosen one myclimate project in Switzerland and one in Rwanda.
