Hotel Eden Roc Ascona embarks on a new chapter with substantial investment

The award-winning hotel on the shores of Lake Maggiore is setting new sails in spring 2025.

Ascona, (20 August 2024). Extensive investments will ensure that Hotel Eden Roc Ascona continues to be one of Europe's top holiday hotels. The project is led by two Ticino architects, Carlo Rampazzi (interior) and Fiorenzo Tresoldi (exterior), who have known each other since their school days and are now excited about their first joint project. Architect Fiorenzo Tresoldi envisions the new modern building as a delicate sailing yacht gliding gently over the sparkling waves of Lake Maggiore. The extensive use of glass and a carefully selected array of materials will impart a new lightness and zest for life to the hotel. Additionally, the award-winning resort will introduce a forward-looking energy concept.

Elegant architecture and bright colours will accentuate the main building. Large windows and modern glass balustrades on the expansive balconies will frame the breathtaking views over the shimmering blue of Lake Maggiore. The interior design will be spearheaded by the long-standing interior designer of the Tschuggen Collection, Carlo Rampazzi. As in the first renovation phase of Hotel Eden Roc two years ago, a discreet modern approach has been chosen to elegantly express the southern zest for life. The 10,000 m² Garden of Eden will enhance the hotel with its lush summer blooms, cosy seating areas, and direct access to the lake with a private harbour, lending it a unique Mediterranean flair.

Significant investments will also be made in a new energy concept, which will allow for CO2-neutral energy supply by harnessing the natural temperature differences between lake and groundwater. From Spring 2025, the thermal balance will be controlled via lake and groundwater, and new windows as well as cooling and heating systems will bring about energy optimisation. In addition to the usual renewable electricity sources, the hotel will also use energy from its own photovoltaic systems.

Thanks to this generous investment, Hotel Eden Roc will receive the perfect tailwind for the future through comprehensive renovation. During the renovation in autumn and winter 2024/2025, the core team will continue to host guests at the Hotel Eden Roc Marina and warmly welcome them to the Marina restaurant and its 16 associated rooms. The two main buildings and the outdoor area of Hotel Eden Roc will remain closed during the winter months due to construction work. Just in time for the Easter weekend in 2025, the paradise on Lake Maggiore will once again offer the usual comprehensive service of a Leading Hotel of the World.
